The Grandfather of Wisdom

This lesson plan is a part of the Self Efficacy and Indigenous Development Series.  The specific chapter is called "Expressing my Indigenous Identity".
 
The lesson plan "The Grandfather of Wisdom" are designed to engage youth in the complexities of healthy belonging within our culture, our communities, in our schools with peers and staff.  The lesson plan provides facilitators with ideas, activities, and discussion on issues of belonging.  The lesson plan expectations are below:

By the end of this course, students will:
Describe the specific characteristics that define cultural identity (e.g., language, customs, teachings)
Identify characteristics of art forms (e.g., storytelling, songs,) from various Indigenous groups in Canada.
Explain the creation of Indigenous art forms as a way of maintaining the values, traditions, and beliefs of particular communities.
